'Tis the Season...

Naptime!
Kitties all snug in a lap...

...puppies are all curled up on the couch (see previous post) and I'm knitting, knitting, knitting. Mostly Christmas presents, so no pictures. I'm still crocheting the Moss Fern Wrap, now dubbed "The Endless Shawl" but since I'm still enjoying the yarn and stitch pattern it's fine that it is taking some time. Make that a LOT of time....

I did finish plying the Corriedale for my next knitting project, after all the Christmas stuff, and I can't wait to start. The yarn is a lovely color that is hard to capture in a picture, sort of a warm, light tan. The pattern I want to make with it is the Every Way Wrap by Okmin Park that appeared in Interweave Knits Fall 2009. I can picture this yarn looking nice in this pattern. Of course, I still have to figure out if I can knit it!

We've had a lovely week in Meadows of Dan. Thursday was dinner at Mom's with family, which was wonderful, as always. Everyone is always so busy it's nice to have a little down time to just visit. Then yesterday evening just after dark there was a little ceremony "uptown" here to light the community Christmas tree. It was lovely to see so many people! The parking lots were full of folks, children waiting for Santa, everyone sipping cider and hot chocolate and sampling cookies. There was a nice "ahhhh" of appreciation when the tree was lit and then we sang Christmas carols. Village life!

I've been getting up with TJ every morning for a walk, although we haven't always had our favorite company along. He's just happier with the exercise and it's not doing me any harm, of course. Then I come home and knit or crochet along with podcasts for about an hour before tackling the kitty and bunny chores. A nice pot of tea warms me up after that little excursion. One more month and I'll be staying at home more, and I'm really looking forward to that. Cozy winter days with the spinning wheel and needles!
